I've had two bad experience with file vault 2 getting stuck for me. Once on this Mac and once on a brand new 11" Air I bought directly from Apple and set it up for my niece. I reported the issue to Apple. I Googled around at the time and noticed others encountered this too. I uncheck that box now every time.
