So, I would recommend getting it working with the default 128-bit BF-CBC encryption and default auth settings and then experiment from there.

I had seen some suggestions of using Merlin on this router instead, but I have not tried it. My WAN connection is 1gb/s, so no worries there. When connecting using OpenVPN on my desktop my speeds are pretty good so I know the bottleneck is the router.
